As a Professional Certifying Organization (PCO), CalWEP is authorized to host QWEL trainings and certify professionals! QWEL is a highly rated certification course recognized by U.S. EPA WaterSense for Irrigation System Auditing and is a multi-year WaterSense Sustained Excellence award winner. The course covers sustainable landscaping principles, soils, plant water needs, irrigation system troubleshooting and auditing, controller programming, and more!
CalWEP hosted several Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL) class series throughout the greater Bay Area region beginning in fall 2019. This first-of-its-kind regional training program was sponsored by ten Bay Area water providers and was taught using the newly updated QWEL curriculum in both English and Spanish.
