How Certification Training for Professionals Can Reduce Customer-side Water Loss

Join CalWEP as we highlight key research findings related to customer-side leak response and how a trained professional workforce could help reduce leak response times. In early 2022, with funding from the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency and Valley Water, CalWEP conducted five focus groups with plumbers and irrigation experts and interviewed a number of water agency staff, trade organizations representatives, and other industry experts to identify leak trends, industry motivations, and barriers to earning a leak detection and repair training certification.
This research is intended to inform the development of a training framework for professionals, that when completed, would qualify attendees for placement on directory of trained professionals. Such a directory will improve agency customer service, support agency leak programs, and ultimately reduce water waste. This webinar also marks the release of CalWEP’s extensive report on the subject that will be made available to our members for download.
