This webinar follows the release of the most recent CalWEP Landscape Tool Series resource: The Multiple Benefits of Water Conservation: Defining the environmental and social benefits of landscape transformation programs, which takes a comprehensive look at the quantitative and qualitative benefits linked to turf removal programs and sustainable landscapes. Detailed cut sheets on specific benefit types (i.e. energy and GHGs, property value, and human health and well being) synthesize findings from a comprehensive literature review and help to justify continued investments in landscape transformation programs.

Featured presenters include Sonali Abraham and Cora Kammeyer of the Pacific Institute who will discuss their experience working directly with the business community in So. Cal.’s Santa Ana River Watershed to promote landscape transformation; and Regina Hirsch of the Watershed Progressive and the Localizing California Waters Conference who will highlight her project experience planning and implementing multi-benefit water management projects within the Ojai Valley and the Ventura River Watershed as well as introduce the Watershed Progressive’s Water Toolkit, which includes a model that generates parcel-level quantification of potential water strategies and regional analysis on a community to watershed scale.
