At CalWEP, we believe that a water-resilient California starts with a well-trained workforce. We are thrilled to announce our 2026 training schedule, featuring expanded partnerships and specialized tracks designed to bring cutting-edge water efficiency awareness to every corner of the industry.

Expanding the QWEL Network

Our flagship Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL) program continues to grow. This year, CalWEP is proud to partner with our member agencies to host eight trainings across the state. To ensure accessibility for all our members, we are offering a flexible mix of both in-person and virtual sessions.

New Horizons in CII Efficiency

We are excited to enter our second contract with Southern California Gas (SCG), allowing us to offer six targeted trainings specifically for Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional (CII) sectors and Homeowner Associations.

These sessions focus on high-impact areas where efficiency makes the biggest difference:

  • Hotel Hospitality: Optimizing water and energy.
  • BMP for Pool Professionals: Best Management Practices for water loss prevention.
  • AB1572 Compliance: Navigating the phase-out of nonfunctional turf.
  • Commercial Kitchens: Streamlining water use in food service.
  • Efficiency in Education Campuses: Large-scale solutions for schools and universities.
  • Efficiency in Medical Facilities: Managing specialized water and energy needs in healthcare.

Elevating the Plumbing Industry

2026 marks the completion of our innovative pilot program for plumbing professionals. In partnership with IAPMO, our Leak Repair Elite Trainings provide a unique edge for plumbing professionals. Participants who complete the training can qualify to earn a spot in our customer-facing directory, connecting water-conscious homeowners directly with elite professionals.
