The California Irrigation Institute announces its 56th annual conference -- Drought to Deluge: Scaling Solutions.

The past decade was filled with extreme weather conditions in California. Join panels and discussions from top water leaders on how they prepared for this reality and took advantage of wet conditions after years of historic drought. There were many innovative efforts to quickly mobilize projects and reap the benefits of 2017’s extraordinary precipitation. Featured luncheon speaker is acclaimed author, Sandra Postel, founder and director of the Global Water Policy Project, who will be signing copies of her latest book, Replenish.

Attendees include a diverse group of water professionals to include agricultural and urban water managers, policy makers, manufacturers, and farmers. Click here for more information and to register.

Bylaws Votes are Counted

Bylaws Votes are Counted

Wednesday, January 03, 2018

The proposed amendments to our bylaws have been approved by a nearly unanimous vote. The changes are effective 1/1/2018. This is an important milestone in our reorganization, allowing for a much more dynamic and nimble organization. Watch your inbox for more news as we complete our transition to the California Water Efficiency Partnership.
Thank you to all of our members for your support during our transition.  The Partnership’s Board and staff look forward to working with members in 2018 to provide the tools and services you need to meet your water conservation and efficiency goals.  Two exciting projects happening in the first quarter of the year are a listening tour to provide members with a voice to explore and understand wants and needs as we become a chapter of the Alliance for Water Efficiency, and the release of a new Strategic Plan for the Partnership.

Agencies Support the Water Conservation Rebate Tax Parity Act

Agencies Support the Water Conservation Rebate Tax Parity Act

Wednesday, November 22, 2017
Nearly 100 signatories joined the Alliance for Water Efficiency on letters to Congressman Jared Huffman and Senator Diane Feinstein in support of the Water Conservation Tax Parity Act (H.R 448 and S 1464 respectively.)

Public utilities in every state offer rebate programs to promote water conservation and storm water management, but the rebates they pay to homeowners are currently seen as taxable income to the recipient. This is in stark contrast to the treatment of similar energy efficiency rebates, which Congress declared non‐taxable in 1992 under Section 136 of the Internal Revenue Code.
