The Board's recommendation to refocus and restructure the California Urban Water Conservation Council has passed by written vote of the members. Voting ended December 30, 2016. The changes will take place through a combination of bylaws amendments, financial arrangements and other transition matters.
Ballots were returned by 80 Group 1 members with only one no vote. Six Group 2 members returned ballots, all in favor of the proposal. Therefore, the proposal passed. This approval of the proposed changes sunsets the Council on December 31, 2016 as we have known it and lays the groundwork for creating a refocused and restructured organization beginning in 2017. The transition period is now underway per the Transition Plan outlined by the Board. Additional details and updates will be forthcoming.
